Metro in Bandra: Line 3 Stations and Line 2B Status
Metro Line 3 is the Metro line that matters for Bandra today, and Line 2B is the one still to come. This guide lists the stations, the phase dates and the dates that remain tentative.
Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line)
Line 3 runs from Aarey JVLR to Cuffe Parade, 33.5 km with 27 stations, and is fully operational. The stations near Bandra are Santacruz, BKC, Bandra Colony and Dharavi, and airport T1 and T2 are also on the line (Wikipedia, check for later updates).
The line opened in three phases. Aarey JVLR to BKC opened on 5 Oct 2024, BKC to Acharya Atre Chowk on 9 May 2025, and the stretch to Cuffe Parade on 8 Oct 2025.
In practice, Line 3 changes the picture mainly for people who work along its alignment, such as at BKC or near the airport. For others the railway and road links still do much of the work. A buyer who does not travel along the Line 3 alignment should weigh Metro access lightly and judge a project on its other merits.
Ridership caveat
Wikipedia reports daily ridership of around 150,000 in Oct 2025, far below the projection. We rate this low confidence because it may be outdated. Lower ridership can mean less crowding, but it is also a reminder that a Metro line does not by itself guarantee use by residents.

Metro Line 2B (Yellow Line)
Line 2B phase 1 is 5.53 km, elevated, with 5 stations, from Diamond Garden in Chembur to Mandale. It is not in Bandra. Wikipedia lists the Bandra, Income Tax Office, ILFS, MTNL, SG Barve Marg and Kurla East sections with targets around December 2027, and western stations with December 2026 targets.
The BKC Line 3 station is planned to interchange with Line 2B at the Income Tax Office station. All of this is tentative, so do not buy on the assumption that Line 2B will open by a given year.
Lines 2A and 7 are far north
Line 2A (Dahisar East to DN Nagar) has been fully operational since 19 January 2023. Line 7 (Dahisar East to Gundavali) is also operational. They meet at Dahisar East, with Line 1 at Gundavali. These lines are far north of Bandra and do not serve it directly. Line 7A to the airport is under construction, with an interchange at the Aqua Line airport T2.
