Bandra Connectivity: Rail, Metro, Sea Link and Roads
Bandra sits on the Western and Harbour railway lines, the Aqua Line (Metro Line 3), the Western Express Highway and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. This guide lists each link with its status and source, so you can separate what is open from what is still under construction. It supports the 105 projects we track across 13 Bandra localities.
Rail: the oldest and most used link
Bandra railway station serves the Western line and the Harbour line and has 7 platforms. It is a Grade-I heritage structure, and a renovation was completed in 2023 (Wikipedia, 2026). The station also serves the BKC district.
Bandra Terminus is a separate Western Railway terminus for interstate trains. It opened in 1992 and has 7 platforms. The files we use do not give the distance between the terminus and the main station, so check this on the ground. For more detail see our Bandra station guide.
Metro: Line 3 is open, Line 2B is not yet
Metro Line 3 (the Aqua Line) now runs from Aarey JVLR to Cuffe Parade. It opened in phases on 5 Oct 2024 (Aarey JVLR to BKC), 9 May 2025 (BKC to Acharya Atre Chowk) and 8 Oct 2025 (to Cuffe Parade). The line is 33.5 km with 27 stations. Stations near Bandra are Santacruz, BKC, Bandra Colony and Dharavi, and the airport terminals T1 and T2 are also on the line (Wikipedia, check for later updates).
Metro Line 2B (the Yellow Line) opened its first phase on 17 April 2026 between Diamond Garden in Chembur and Mandale. The Bandra-side stretch is not open. Sources list targets of December 2026 for the western stations and December 2027 for Bandra to Kurla East, and these dates are tentative. One source also gives 8 April 2026 for the first phase opening, so the opening date itself is in conflict. See Metro in Bandra for station detail.

Roads, sea links and the Coastal Road
The Western Express Highway runs 25.33 km from Mira Road to Bandra, and its southern end joins the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Airport access runs through the Sahar Elevated Access Road, built in 2014. The Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (6.45 km, opened 18 April 2014) connects the WEH to the Eastern Express Highway.
The Sea Link is 5.6 km and 8 lanes. The Coastal Road connector to the Sea Link opened to the public on 27 January 2025. Details are in the Sea Link guide.

What this means for buyers
The open links (rail, Line 3, the Sea Link) are already priced into most of Bandra. The under-construction links are where a future change could come from, but their dates are uncertain, so treat them as upside rather than a reason to pay more today.
Compare localities by their nearest working link. Our Bandra East projects cluster around BKC and the Line 3 stations, while Bandra West projects sit closer to the rail line and the Sea Link approach.
Checks before you rely on a link
Use these checks alongside the table above.
- Confirm the opening status of any link on an official notice. Our table reflects the named sources only.
- Treat every date marked tentative or unconfirmed as a target, not a promise. This applies to Line 2B on the Bandra side, the Versova-Bandra Sea Link and the BKC bullet train station.
- Ask for the walking route from the project to the nearest station or Metro entrance, and walk it at the hour you will commute.
- Our sources give no per-destination drive times for Andheri, Lower Parel, Nariman Point, Churchgate or Powai, so use a live map for those.
- Read the disclaimer on how we source and verify listings.
