Planned interchange with Line 2B
A Line 2B interchange is planned at the Income Tax Office station. Line 2B phase 1 opened on 17 April 2026 (one source says 8 April) between Diamond Garden and Mandale. The Bandra and Income Tax Office sections carry a tentative December 2027 target. If they open, BKC would gain an east-west Metro link. Until then, do not count on it.
The BKC bullet train station
A BKC station for the Mumbai to Ahmedabad bullet train is under construction. It is underground, about 32 m deep, with six platforms of about 414 m each. Construction began in September 2023, and on 26 March 2026 a minister said foundation works were almost complete and the base slab had started. Wikipedia lists opening for 2029, with an earlier target of March 2028, and there is no official completion date. Treat 2029 as unconfirmed.
