Bandra to Andheri: Rail, Highway and Metro Corridors
Andheri lies north of Bandra along the Western line and the Western Express Highway. Our source files contain no sourced travel times between Bandra and Andheri, so this guide gives corridor facts only and does not invent a journey time.
What we can and cannot say
We have no sourced figures for the distance or drive time from Bandra or BKC to Andheri. Any time you read elsewhere should be checked against a live map at the hour you plan to travel.
What we do have is the structure of the corridors: the railway, the highway and two Metro lines with very different status.
Rail: the Western line
Bandra station is on the Western line and the Harbour line, with 7 platforms, and it serves both the Bandra suburb and the BKC district. A renovation was completed in 2023 (Wikipedia, 2026). The Western line is the direct rail route north along this corridor. Our sources do not give timetables, so check the railway before planning a daily commute. More in the station guide.

Road: the Western Express Highway
The Western Express Highway is 25.33 km from Mira Road to Bandra, and its southern end joins the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. The Santacruz-Chembur Link Road and the JVLR cross it, per our source. The Sahar Elevated Access Road provides airport access.
Locality notes also mention a Kherwadi flyover on the WEH. We have no sourced traffic data for this stretch.
Metro: Line 3 is open, Line 2B is tentative
Metro Line 3 runs from Aarey JVLR to Cuffe Parade and is fully operational. It opened in phases on 5 Oct 2024, 9 May 2025 and 8 Oct 2025. Its stations near Bandra are Santacruz, BKC, Bandra Colony and Dharavi, and the airport terminals T1 and T2 are on the line.
Metro Line 2B opened its first phase on 17 April 2026 between Diamond Garden and Mandale, with an alternative opening date of 8 April 2026 in one source. The Bandra-side sections have tentative targets: December 2026 for the western stations (Juhu to Saraswat Nagar) and December 2027 for Bandra to Kurla East. Line 2B is therefore not yet a usable Bandra to Andheri link. See Metro in Bandra.

What it means for buyers
If you will commute to Andheri, test the route at your own hours, because our files cannot give a number. Compare the nearest station for each project on Bandra West or Bandra East pages, and note that Bandra East localities such as Kala Nagar reach the WEH directly.
Checks before you decide
Use these checks alongside the table above.
- Ask a current commuter on your intended route for real timings at your hours.
- Do not assume Line 2B will connect Bandra and Andheri by a fixed year, as its Bandra-side dates are tentative and conflict between sources.
- Compare the nearest station for each project, since walking distance to rail or Line 3 will matter more than the highway for most commuters.
- Remember that our files hold corridor facts only, and no distance in km between the two places.
