The Sea Link: about 10 minutes to Worli

The Bandra-Worli Sea Link is 5.6 km long with 8 lanes. It opened to traffic on 30 June 2009, with full opening in 2010. It cuts the peak Bandra to Worli time from 20 to 30 minutes down to about 10 minutes (Wikipedia, 2026).

A toll applies. Our sources conflict on the amount, so check the operator before you travel. More in the Sea Link guide.

Each option suits a different traveller. The Sea Link and Coastal Road suit those with a car, Line 3 suits those who want to avoid road traffic, and the Western line suits those travelling from the station. Because our sources give only partial times, test each on the day and hour you will actually travel before relying on any of them.

The Coastal Road connector

The Coastal Road phase 1 (Marine Lines to Worli, 10.58 km) was inaugurated on 11 March 2024. A connector bridge to the Sea Link opened to the public on 27 January 2025. The projected time from Marine Drive to Bandra is 10 to 15 minutes (Mumbai Live, 27 January 2025). That is a projection, not a measured figure.

The road is for cars and state buses only. The phase 2 stretch from Bandra to Kandivali is listed as under construction, and its date is uncertain.

  • Check the Coastal Road rules for your vehicle, since our source says cars and state buses only.
  • Treat the 10 to 15 minute Marine Drive figure as a projection from January 2025, not a measured time.
  • Look at the Cuffe Parade Metro station list on the operator site, as our files give no journey time from Bandra to Cuffe Parade.
  • Note that phase 2 of the Coastal Road, Bandra to Kandivali, is under construction and not open.
